I replaced the PO's lift pump after it failed. 2 weeks later, 2-3K miles, my good lift pump from my wrecked truck also quit. It is attempting to pump as I can feel it vibrate but can not hear it. No pressure and the truck is starving for fuel at higher RPM's - my first clue the LP was suspect.

Running B99 bio-diesel and #2 at 75% mix, 25% #2 at the moment.

Ideas or other things to look at?

Only the obvious ground or OPS. Stock LPs suck. I went thru one a year for about 3-4 yrs. Current one is about 2 yrs old

As my DB2 is about dead it gets relay power from key on. I will check it's ground. I may have to look at a better pump solution then. Thx.

BIO DIESEL. Search around on the net about problems with corrosion. I do not understand all there is to know about it, but I am guessing it has to do with the processing of the Bio. I’ll bet ya a beer that's yr problem…

could the sock/strainer on the sending unit be plugged?
might be a good idea to remove the sock/strainer and install a pre filter before the lp.

I don't think the Bio is an issue,, I run it, with no problems,, unless there is a small rubber valve of sorts in the LP,, Pure BIO will eat away rubber,, if it is thin
or older and not viton type. I'm guessing that it's probably the tank sock getting clogged, and starving the LP of fuel and it's failing,, or bad ground.

Well since the guts of a oem lift are rubber, that is a possibility, and I'd hazard a guess the non GM ones and even GM maybe are now foreign sourced and use a rubber that works with Diesel but is not Bio-compliant. I'd check 1st before with pump mfr to see if bio-D compliant.

Clogged sock & rust are also candidates, and why I pre-filter prior to lift pump as sock is only 70 microns of protection if that is all you have pre lift pump
