Hi Everyone,
I just picked up a project truck which has 7 DTC codes. The 1st 2 codes are 32 and 33 which are EGR issues. The vacuum pump has low output so that explains the 32 & 33 codes. That next 5 are 72,73,81,82 & 83.The ses comes on when I put the shifter in any gear.I know these 5 are tranny codes but I took it for a spin and it worked mint.Every gear works, shifts nice and torque converter locked.Note During road test there was no ses light on.Any ideas?

The SES light, Service Engine Soon, doesn't come on for transmission problems.

No, low vac pump output doesn't explain a circuit error code. The light being on indicates a current condition the ECM is seeing. EGR will set the light off. Not sure on the speed sensor, but, HD emissions will have trans codes w/o setting the light off including TPS adjustment codes.

Start with the simple stuff by cleaning grounds. Then check the trans connector for oil leaking on/around it. May be fixed for a short time by cleaning.

You can always get Vin F non-EGR, but, the turbo still needs a good vac pump. You could also get a better turbo that doesn't need the vac pump...

Thanks for the welcome!!!
I finally got my truck the road,so far so good very impressed. The truck has been sitting for a year so it needs to be driven and topped up with some fresh fuel. As far as the codes, only one (code 33) on the first day.I figure it is the vacuum pump, it tested low output.Day two, no codes but I am not holding my breath. For now we will keep truckin and I will keep you guys
and gals up dated.
Welcome to the forum! :welcome2:

Moved into the 6.5 engine section. You should get better responses here.

Welcome to ya! Glad to hear she's running good. You said project truck, is it stock now? What are you planning on project wise -faster, better, stronger?

Thanks.
It is pretty much stock except the wheels. It has American Racing wheels which I want to replace with stock steel chrome rims. (454ss style rims.)
Future plans are to replace the 3.08 with 3.42 or 3.73 with locking diff. & vacuum pump delete with mech. waste gate.
For now do some maintenance on it and get it ready for winter.
