The bike (bicycle) team I'm on hosted a race in downtown Tampa Sat and I was asked to be the lead motor... worked out well. I rode damn near 130 miles at .6 miles per lap over the course of the day. Do the math on that one.

Worked out well and the bike handled so nice on what was a tight and technical course with lots of brick streets and rough pavement. First time I've done something like that and actually had a blast even though I was exhausted at the end of the day.

Motoref= motorcycle referee.

Translation: The lead motorcycle (or any motorcycle for that matter) in a race with officiating powers. In this case, ensuring no pedestrians are in the streets and making sure lapped riders are out of the way so that the lead riders are protected and can concentrate on racing.

I feel your pain. I did motorcycle escort for the MS150 one year (Houston to Austin). Ride up a few miles at slow speeds, turn around and ride back a few miles, forward, back, forward, back......... the '150 miles' was more like 250 at 3-5 miles per hour. It felt more like 1000. Then, if someone wrecked or needed a SAG wagon, I had to stop and help. I was one wooped puppy to say the least.

It was fun and for a good cause, but boy howdy, it was work. :sick:

Yea, it was exhausting to say the least. Like an idiot, I thought entering my race category at 4:00 in the afternoon would be a good idea after doing this for most of the day. I promptly got dropped on the 4th lap. Dehydrated and tired, I did finish the race a couple of laps down however. We also had a guy from the local BMW club to ride backup and help out. He did a good job despite not being familiar with the races and not having done anything like this before.

Here's another pic of a lap I took in the morning before the races started.

Well, you picked an absolutely awesome day to do it. Saturday was the perfect day to do pretty much anything. The causeway here out to the island was jam packed and not moving at all. I was leaving for work at 2:45 and oh boy the eye candy did I pass.

They way I see it you took every prime and placed first in every race - I hope you collected your hardware.
