Lesee... Where'd we leave off?

Ah, yes. The water hole. After a rough 10 hours in the saddle, in 90+ degree heat and sunburnt to a crisp, this little swimming hole was too good to pass up. I changed into my swim trunks right in the parking lot, modesty be damned. If they charged $100 to jump in, I think I would have paid it.

Just buzzin through the park...

the cabin we rented. $150 each for a total of 3 nights? Well worth it! Cold beer and a hot tub is a great thing after a day of riding.

10

At the start of some road, that I cant seem to remember the name of...

11

about 1/4 of the crowd at Deals Gap, at the bottom of The Dragon.

12

the view from Clingman's Dome

13

In the meadow at Cades Cove

14

Tranquil.

Pictures dont do this justice. It has to be seen with your own eyes.

16

So... How close exactly were we to Oak Ridge?!?

17

Baby bear shot up this tree faster than I could ever have imagined. I bet it was well over 100 foot tall, and the little sucker went straight to the top.

18

Mama Bear getting a bit antsy upon hearing a dog bark.

Ya know what. I got plenty of pictures of the bear. Time to leave!!!

Very nice Tim. How about more pics? I know you want to. :drool5:

What kind of bikes do your Buddy's ride? I'm thinking I need to gather a few friends and take a trip somewhere. Not much scenery here on the prairie's for me.

dang how close were you to that bear

40 ft or so.

The blue one is mine, a 06 road king custom. The grey-ish one is daves, also a 2006 RK custom, and the black one is mikes. Its a 2008 Street Glide.

Nice Tim, I would of jumped into the water as well lol. When you get to that point the water just feels better, soooo refreshing.I don't get that close to bears I would be the guy going "look at that idiot" ha ha.

Cowracer, If that swimming hole is near Cades Cove thats the stream that they straight pipe sewer into. Just kidding, but who knows for sure anymore. Thats far enough back in the forest that its probably ok. I swam in that same swimming hole about 25 years ago. Cades Cove is a beautiful place with great camping, riding, hiking and wildlife viewing. Use to you could see more than 100 deer late of the evening around the paved loop road. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

You used to be able to see over 200 deer easy with 30-40 large bucks. We were riding through on bicycles right after they set the wolves loose and one was a couple hundred yards away howling. We peddled fast.

Looks like you had a great time and some good rides.

I ride those areas at least once a month.

Foothills parkway is a favorite of mine.

I rode both the foot hills parkway and the Dragon on June 5th, again on the 6the and again on the 9th....

I am off shore on the rig since the 12th. Wife just e-mailed and she rode the Dragon and Charahola skyway on the 17 and the 19th....

Love that 08 street glide...My next bike will be a street glide....
