went down to the three day consignment auction at garden city KS (which, btw, someone, possibly one of you, from Connecticut is flying out to pic up a pretty clean diesel blazer) and I bought two trucks.

first one: 93 K2500(HD) 6.5L 5spd 4wd ECLB. 246K miles, but it is cherry. It has Leroys favorite interior! It was bought new in arizona, and has never made it further than soutwest KS, so there is no rust. the airbox wasnt sealed up due to misinstalation, but there wasnt too much dirt inside, and the turbo has no play and little leading edge wear, so I feel I caught it in time. it drove home beautifully. I do plan on keeping it a while, so go buy a lotto ticket folks, GM Guy has bought a 4 wheel drive that he wont kill or sell immediately. pics: http://scottauction.com/GIF'S/2012PICS/pic1/RTM 001.jpg http://scottauction.com/GIF'S/2012PICS/pic3/SA 392.jpg http://scottauction.com/GIF'S/2012PICS/pic3/SA 393.jpg

second one is a 1995 C3500HD 6.5L 5spd 2wd short wheelbase (8 foot body) bucket truck. body is straight, paint is crap, and truck wasnt maintained the best, as the balancer is wobbling (trailered it home) and it is grimy as heck. 1st gear is dificult to find, and 5th is out, so GM NV4500s can and will lose fifth gear. I havent tryed out the bucket yet, but we plan on using it for some tree trimming and building repairs on the farm, and then plan on stripping the bed off and putting a flatbed on. and possibly selling it (Tanman? interested in a 8 footer? ) it has decent tires, and 206K miles. pics: http://scottauction.com/GIF'S/2012PICS/pic7/SA 123.jpg http://scottauction.com/GIF'S/2012PICS/pic7/SA 125.jpg http://scottauction.com/GIF'S/2012PICS/pic7/SA 126.jpg http://scottauction.com/GIF'S/2012PICS/pic7/SA 127.jpg

so, do you folks think I did OK? less than 3 grand for the 93, and less than 2 grand for the 95. both have some blowby, but it flows, rather than puffs, so I feel it is uniform wear, rather than a scored bore.

The 95 would be a perfect long haul rig. BUDDY multi tune, Tow tune when loaded heavy and MPG when running empty PERFECT and it has the newer interior (which in a work truck might need some TLC)

The interior is rough on the HD, it needs alot of help. IDK what I will do with it yet, probably use it for a while, then break it apart and sell the bed and possibly the truck. may even sell the whole thing! :) the only thing I dont like on short HDs is that they are rough riding, I would say the 183.5 inch WB HD would be the best long haul tow rig. I was thinking more a short haul tow rig. I bet a Donahue gooseneck grain trailer would be sweet behind this for those trying to stay non-DOT.

air bags make a night/day diff on ride.
you did good. i was wondering what you paid until the end. was the fee included in the price or is it separate?
i am going to win the lotto and pay that place a visit.

A longer WB would be nice but finding one that has a short enough tail on the bed to fit under my Gooseneck is tough and the extra length doesnt help turning in tight spaces. My trailers are rated at 20K and 24K so I think I can weigh it down enough.

As for DOT bs, I have a Class A so I can pull about what ever I feel reasonable :rolleyes5: If you let me know sooner than later I might be interested in working something out with you.

OH MAN! That 93 brings back memories. Its exactly like my first 93. I ordered it brand new in 92 and had to wait 3 months for it. Mine was 2wd, but same paint, cab, interior and BTW the 93/94 red interior is the BEST interior in all of the years GMT400.

tanman, Ill probably hold onto it for now. For one to fully trust it when towing heavy, it needs a meticulous tranny rebuild, and a teds motor, so it would be sorta costly to do up right.

what are you looking for in a HD? I know of a few with automatics if that floats your boat. know of one with a known locked up motor, so no guessing games there, it definitely need a motor. It also has the long wheelbase. it is an auto as well.

Looking for a 94-95 5speed, prefer shorter WB myself 8-12ft (for handling reasons), it will be pulling loaded flatbed, what ever it is will get a new/rebuilt engine likely 18:1.

Looking for a clean slate to build a purpose built tow rig. Rebuilding the tranny is no big deal. The truck you have is in better shape than a couple others I am looking at.

I might start building my 93 but I would prefer the truck I described above for the higher gvwr.

http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/ctd/2856509207.html Nice price but what is 07 C&C GVWR

http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/ctd/2857752489.html I would prefer a Dmax Kodiac

http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/2796077499.html This is close but I dont want a OBD2

http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/ctd/2825446494.html To many miles for the price

http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/2788896033.html Might be a nice project LML drop in

There was a Loaded Crewcab C4500-5500 kodiac LB7 with 30K on it for ~20K but I can't find it at the moment. I dont mind a project as this is a side business I am starting and possibly a full time fleet in a year or 2. The goal is to have 2 reliable well built towing trucks by next winter, for now I have the 06 LBZ and 93 but would rather use the 93 & ????

I thought you would like the truck leroy! I wont argue, it was a rather comfortable ride home! :) so it is literally identical, except for 4wd? (It has the split bench, rather than the buckets with console like your burb)
