Hey guys I was wondering if any of you have opted to modify the plastic cover that goes over the intake to allow more air under it but still cover up stuff like the egr? I was considering getting my hands on on to modify a bit to allow more cooling under it but also provide mount points for my new fuel pressure gauge and eventually an ops bypass kit. The plan was to cut a portion of the back of the cover off to clear my fire wall mounted ffm as well as add vents to the sides of it for hot air to escape along with removing a portion of the sides of the cover near the ip. My pmd has been relocated thanks to one of leroys pmd relocation kits.

Most of us have already took that "Turbo" cover out to the auction site.

The fastest mod if you can call it a mod.

It is nothing but in the way. It was the first 4 bolts I removed and never put back on.

Meh, I like mine:

Anyone who wants their old one out of the garage can feel free to pack it up and I'll pay shipping to my house.....as long as it's the same style as the one already on my truck.

I got 2 both the same from 94 and 95,, with PMD relocated,, there is no reason not to have in on, I guess. I like what Mr Gr White has done with his,, maybe, I'll have to paint on of mine up. ;)

Turbo Power sounds like a kick ass powerfull diesel engine. Mine went to the plastic recycle bin after the first drive.

I pulled mine and sold it. Saw 1 mpg increase in fuel economy from the weight loss.:hihi:

Yeah, I forgot mine at the bone yard one day. I bet if I got a new one and had it chromed, it would give me a quick 80 horse and another 200 miles per gallon.

Mine is now on "stilts" to clear my relocated FFM. I like the look of the factory cover over the bare intake and wires. Looks how it came from the factory. Heat isnt a concern in my opinion, especially with a remote mount pmd.

And as for those who cry and say it takes too long to remove for service....problem solved.

Hmmm def like what you did there..anyone know what size of bolts will be needed to reattach one? I do not have the bolts for the cover either. Granted i dont have the cover yet..need to go see if my buddy does have one like he thinks he does.
