Hi all,

I've been talking a bit about modded rocker arms retainer in dieselolds thread here : http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/sh...ort-block-build-with-DS4-injection-pump/page3

Nice engine, I'm jalous ;)

but I don't want to hijack the thread anymore, so I start this one.

I have watched with great interest the modds on the rocker arm retainers, I would be intersted in doing such a mod but I'm scared of doing something wrong. Nylon retainers have always make me anxious, but I never had the time (and skill) to do that.
I have sold my Optimizer and I'm now on the way to rebuild a 141. I think it's a good opportuinity to mod the rocker retainers.

Any of you would be interested of doing it for me in the "rules of the art" and selling that to me? :D

Not nylon lock nuts, mechanical locknuts. If you are real worried about loosing the nuts, you could drill the bolts and safety wire the bolt below the nut like done in aircraft. Otherwise the idea that turbovanman found using a rod drilled and threaded instead of nuts is a good idea.
