Will be needing some tires very soon.. I'm looking at either the Mickey Thompson MTZ, or the ATZ. Now, I do like the look of the MTZ better, but I'm also worried about road noise. Anyone have any experience with either?

Yup Jeff. I had the MTZ's on my 6.5 for 4 years and I loved them. They look awesome and performed really well in all our weather conditions around here. I never rotated them, and found the front to be cupping a bit but that would be my fault.

As for noise, not to bad I guess.

I can't really tell you what kind of miles to expect because every truck and driver is different.

Hope this helps a bit.

How would it compare to a All terrain tire Gerald? Since this won't see off road... I'm just looking for an aggressive look yet a nice quiet ride. I'm not sure if I can achieve that or not.

Your not gonna get a quiet ride with the MTZ's Jeff. The sweet aggressive look of the MTZ's make up for it though. :)

Although if your truck only see's pavement, go with something less aggressive. Just my opinion though...

When it comes to the MTZ's Jeff, I think you are only going to get one or the other between quiet ride and the aggressive look of them. A guy down the block from me has M/T's (Mickey's I believe) on his Jeep, and you can hear him a good 1/4 mile away coming towards you. Don't get me wrong.. I think they look great. I'm sure if your radio gets loud enough, you won't hear them. I'm soon going to be in the market for tires, and a M/T tire is very tempting for that aggressive look that I like like you do, but what always keeps me away from them is the road noise. My opinion, I'd say find an "little less" aggressive A/T. Either one though I believe will look really sharp on your rig.

Check out the Michelins also. They are an excellent tire.

My father has them.. I don't even consider them an A/T tire. I just don't like the looks of them either..He got 25K out of his first set and Michelins warrantied it for half off a new set.. My opinion though about the looks, I give him a hard time about it. :D

Gerald and David,

I'm going to have to sacrifice one for the other I know. I looked at the Mickey ATZ's, but I'm not sure if they have enough look for me. With a 4" lift if you don't' have something it can look funny..
