There are many of us around here that arent fortunate enough to posses the marvolous looking marker lights that reside on the tops of our cab. I hated mine not having them and so, I've done something about it. The rest of the day after class, a trip to Pepboys, some tools and alot of patience and marking got the job done to this:

And I couldn't be happier with them. There bright as can be (If anything brighter than stocks) and it was well worth it.
It even rained today so it seems mother nature felt like doing me a favor and checking to see if my roof leaks for me. No leaks, not even a spot of water. This is with rain pouring on it for several hours, and driving down the road at 55mph with the wipers throwing water at them.

really? I used to envy the trucks that drove by like the cummins and powerchokes with them. Is it just your lights in particular or all of them in general?

You did a nice looking job putting those on!!!! Im more into the oem style tho, you could just go to the junkyard and get aset of oem's for dirt, just make sure they look decent. My brother did the same ones to his dodge and they already have a leak and let condensation in....

I meant no offense, you did a great job, I just don't like them. right now I have 2 that are burnt out, and I really don't feel like changing them. I thought about getting the white versions, but it just doesn't seem like it's worth spending the money right now. I will do it some day, but not any time soon.

holy cow - sweet but how in god's name did you bring yourself to drill holes in the roof ? how did you rustproof that and what did you seal everything with to ensure you will not have to take it all apart 6 months down the road from rust or water leaking.

I could never bring myself to drill holes in it, but i like the look ....

ME LIKE LIGHTS! You need some more though ):h I got 9 on my 94...

no LED's. Bright as hell, but there just a basic light bulb in a socket. I don't like the OEM's and all though it woulda been cheaper I wanted to start fresh and with something bigger than the GM OEM's.

I don't know how on earth I got myself to drill holes in my roof. I can assure you, IT WASN'T EASY. But once I got over lining up the first one and getting it all set up, I liked how it turned out and the drilling became just one of those "Its worth it" motivating things.

The kit came with special gaskets that fit perfectly into the bottom of the casing. Drill the holes for the wire and moutning screws and crank it down. There tightly sealed on there and like I said, mother nature decided to test them today. Not a leak. Not even condensation. So needless to say I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Rust has been solved as an issue with a good amount of sealant and tighly cranked gasket seals.

No offense or harm taken its all good.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Believe me, I enjoy it, and the big ass truck look. Its freakin awesome thats for sure.

I don't like them because they are a water infiltration point. Have a '68 Dodge with the metal over the windshield rotted out because of them.

On the other hand they are DOT required for Duallys.

Nice work, looks nice.

More lights the better!

Good move buying new, nothing like new items to help out an older truck...

I'd buy the best silicone clear you can buy and seal the penetration point, also make 100% sure every screw in those is Stainless Steel.

Matt I'm hording your idea for the stainless screws as that didn't even cross my mind. They where definatly not alluminium but I'll have to drop by lowes or the local harware store tomorrow and see what I can find with stainless.

There are three pentration points. 2 for the screws ad 1 smaller hole for the positive feed wire. There grounded via screw to the chassis so only one wire which is good, less open space.

Dang Justin - that's almost a marker light fetish you've got going there. :D

They Look good though.

Anyone know if there is a DOT spec for spacing on the cab marker lights? Just curious - I've noticed some have three equally spaced in the center and one each on the ends - space further from the center three.....then some are 5 markers, evenly spaced across the cab.....and then there is ONE that has 37 cab markers with no space between them! ):h

I honestly don't think that there is any specific location that the marker lights must be located. Powerchokes and cummins duallys have them with three in the middle then 2 spaced farther out on the ends. GM does the whole thing with the 2 on the sides and a "bar" in the middle.

Personally I perfer them all evenly spaced(hence why mine look the way they do). IIRC the older vehicles had them evenly spaced and many semi's have them that way as well.

Looks good man... Why did you put them in the Ford/Dodge pattern? The GM's are usually the 3 centers are close and the 1 outer on each side spread out
