I was called today to have a look at a PENINSULAR engine, in a boat.

The owner says it's a 6.2l.

I wasn't able to find any block casting, but it seems that in the valley on one sidebank, there's a # like 660 which is casted in the block. I know 929, 599 castings, but not 660.

Does that seem familiar to some of you ?

Also, does these 6.2l engines use the same headgaskets (Peninsular # 6200503) than the on the ones mounted in the trucks, or PENINSULAR ones are specials ?

What do you think of these : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEV...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19a339e2cd

The gaskets are interesting but I don't think they can take-up as much warpage as the standard graphite can. I'd use fel=pro for a 6.5turbo engine.

If your not going to buy them I will. Copper gaskets should be used with orings in the block or head.

I've used em before and had to put silicone around all of the coolant passages. Unless your block is decked with a mirror finish, you have to use some sort of seaer around the coolant passages.

"Diesel" is not spelled properly on the fleabay ad...
