.Hi
I am about to start an exiting upgrade\refitting.
1.
I have a top mounted ATA cooler already, but it turned out its to restrictive (thanks to Buddy for calculating my CFM needs for the new ATA cooler)
Although, i got nice intake temps when cruising without towing in 80-90 km\h (17,5 degrees)with my present cooler it pops of the hoses on the turbo side when towing the caravan that is 2000kg.
Still got ok temps towing (50-65degrees) in 80 km\h with the turbo working at about0,5-0,7 psi, but if i put the pedal to the floor it boosts the hoses of, and they are clamped good.
I am going to use a cooler with this dimentions: Core 600x300x76mm\76mm intakes. It flows 700 CFM. ( the old didnt flow over 200CFM):nonod:
Will also install two slim line pull fans if there is room for it, one will fit for shure.

2.
A-team turbo:)
Will be happy to remove the GM thingy..

3.
K-47 airfilterhousing, with AFE pro dry filter.

4.
3 Banger MPC from Buddy

So its just one thing to do,:smash:away.

Sounds good! Most people will say you wont need a cooler with the ATT. If you tow heavy enough with the burb it might be needed

Hi Tanner

The A-team would probably work nice without a cooler, no doubt about that.
But since i have the arrangement ready, and seeing nice intake temps i will use it.
And cold air is good for the combustion. :)

No argument here! I want an innercooler on my truck when i get around to the ATT, but I've been known to haul over 30k gross weight and I like to keep my truck hammered!

Some progress:
When i first did some digging in the engine compartment i removed the radiator and cleaned it of the bugs and other stuff, it was pretty stuffed with dirt between the fins.
Then i removed the steering box to adjust it to minimize play.(per instrucions at the tts forum)
Changed the timing cover cranckshaft seal, and used a speedy sleeve on the harmonic balanser.
Changed oil lines for the Trans cooler, and cleaned the condenser fins to.
Did some touch up on the engine paint, looks a bit fresher now.
Put the A-team turbo on the manifold, its big :)

A-team Turbo, and intercooler installed, had to relocate the in\utlet on the cooler to make i fit.
Installed one fan under the intercooler and one fan in front of the emgine oil cooler, they both start at the same time controlled by a temp circuit i buildt.
I have the component list if anyone is interested.
After seasoning the ATT i have drove it just a little bit with this first experience:

1st impression: No regrets :), nice sound from the exhaust

Lag: close to nothing i will say, even with the intercooler it spools up just fine.
Power: have not driven it hard yet, but i can tell it has more power ,and more even power .
Will use the GMTD Scantech to compare intake temps, engine temps and more.
I will install the Buddy 3 banger MPC after driving it a while to get the feel of it as it is now, and compare when i have installed the MPC.

Some pictures of the install:

Are you doing any hood mods? Scoop, cowl, vent/louvers? What upper manifold did you use penninsular or F fliped over?

Looks very good! I hope the it cools nicely under load, dont see many top mount ATA's.

Hi Tanner ,already have a hood scoop.
i use the F intake flipped over.
With my old intercooler i had intake temps of 17,5 degres cruising in 80-90 km\h, and with my caravan (2 ton) i had IAT temps of 50 - 65 degrees with turbo working at 0,5 - 0,7 bar
Will post values for this setup when i drive it in same conditions..

That hood came out NICE.. The ATA on top is a clever solution for a cramped front end core stack. You're quite the craftsman!

Gotta wait to see your new IAT numbers now.. :)

Thanks a lot, it looks nice, not to big, but it works fine
