Oil and filter, trans fluid and filter were on the list today.

45k miles on the trans fluid so I know I was way past due but it actually looked very good.

My oil was like black paint, like usual. 6800 miles on Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme Synthetic. This time, I put in Amsoil, thanks to Wrecker for good advice.

Next time:

Fumoto oil drain valve. Doing this with skid plates sucks because the last quart or so dribbles out and pools up inside the skid plate. I usually use cardboard or something to assist it into the drip pan but holding my hand there for 15 minutes sucks too. Its funny the things we bitch about. ):h

It didnt burn a drop either. 10 quarts of black watery paint filled up the Amsoil container.

Thanks Ashton for the fluids and Grady for his help. :grouphug:

Those are some damn sexy legs in that picture. :D

Glad to help out. You made it back without the driveshaft falling out, I see... how'd that end up?

No more clunk.

My trans temp was at around 170, which I thought was kinda high considering the OAT's were 75 and it was sprinkling. It was dark when I got home and, well, no underhood light means no checking of fluids for this guy in the dark. First thing tomorrow though.

Nick: Did the gasket remain in tact for the transmission pan? I have an Alli deep pan and Transynd fluid to install. Just curious.

Always have to keep up on the maintenance! ;)

The gasket is reusable and not your typical gasket. I asked Grady the same thing too cause I didnt know either.

Jeff, it makes mess too so be sure to drain the pan first. Although, there's still gonna be like 2 quarts there sloshing around. Bottom line, it makes a mess.

Trying to get the oil filter off, it pretty much exploded in my hand, sending hot black paint all over my hand. I think a few 4 letter words came out followed by Grady laughing. ):h
