What table is the timing everyone goes by?

I see a few of people saying 38 Deg is a lot. What table should I be looking at to check?

Between life, this place, and everything else I'm still learning with EFI..

if I remember correctly. the lb7 and gen 1 lly use table C as a main timing table at sea level atleast. the lbz is table B

and I think 38 degrees is alot in my opinion.

then you have a little more room ;) my timing was maxing at 35 degrees at 3600. I have recently backed that down along with other tables

36 is super high, dont make your power off of timing tables. Bump up your fuel charts then add a little timing here and there to clear up smoke ect. Some of my hotter tunes have stock timing.

My hot tune runs 3500 pulse width and 30 degrees of timing and it keeps the rail pressures up, only makes a light haze and feels pretty quick. This is on an LB7 though.

LB7s use table C as the regular table. Table A is for high altitude.

now the question is, is it actually reaching 3500 in the PW? mine should command 3200 but hasnt gotten over 3180. I recently backed it down to 3150 and changed some other parameters. hopefully i'll get to the the track this wed to see how it works out

No it doesnt just like my fuel pressure is commanding 27,000 but will onl see 17,000 max.

mmm hmmm. now if I Recall what I Was told every 1000 psi lost on rail pressure is something like 10 hp.bet if you cut the PW back to 3100 ish the pressure would come up and the truck would pull a little better from better atomization of the fuel and more consistant pressure feeding the injection cycle. that is going to be my test hopefully at the track this wed nite

I was told that trying to keep pressure at 18-19,000 for an LB7 is a good happy medium.

I will be at the drag strip for 8 hours on saturday testing and tuning all day long. If my truck doesnt blow up after that it will be a miracle.

you would be correct. forgot that the lb7 tops out at 21,000 psi stock. so your not actually loosing much lol

My LB7 desired is 24,9xx.......the actual is 24,7xx. I have seen 25k desired. My rail pressure desired/actual stays within 500psi of each other. I think the target would be 21-23k on stock injectors.
