What is the correct name? Harmonic balancer pulley?
Mine is separate piece from the balancer, I believe. Where can I find
this pulley? Don't see it in O'Reilly or Autozone websites, this
weekend I am gonna pull it (it's definitely bad, can rotate it 2-3" by hand)
Yes, I am gonna check the HB while I have the pulley off, but I don't
think it's bad, and I want to have the pulley in hand. It's getting hot
using the Jeep for a daily driver, no A/C......I'm getting soft! :D

Yep Napa calls it HB Pulley. Napa's was 80bux with lifetime warranty.... Mine lasted 1 month. Said China stamped right on the rubber.

part # 600-5231 76.99

So......did you get another from the same place?

nope, I guess I was just doing PM and wanted a better look of everything HB included as I had 120+ K miles....

Turned out I chased all sorts of other parts afterwards before I realized it was my new crank pulley that was the culprit. Vac Delete, P/S Pump...

I'm confused... the one from NAPA lasted a month?

From my experience it lasted a month. Prbably just luck of the draw bad part... I also deleted vac pump and changed belts... dunno if that could have impact, shouldn't IMO, but i read another thread where someone said there belt was too tight and killed the crnk pully....

I put my OEM factory one back on as it wasn't bad, havn't returned the part yet for replacement. I will, just not sure when... its lifetime warrany...

The nice thing about this part is you can tell when its junk by the CLUNK at turn off... Instead of the absorbed THUD. Like a metal hammer vs a rubber mallet.

I'm real aware of engine noises, started barely hearing a "rumbling"
type sound at idle about a week ago, then a couple of days ago
started hearing the clunk upon turning off engine.

When I shut my motor down, I get a squeak sound with a little thud, if that makes sense. I grabbed my belt and am able to see the pulley move about a quarter inch or so without a whole lot of effort. Is this normal or is any movement bad. Thanks.

Steve
