What is the latest greatest LP scoop / fad?

I just installed a FRB -5 on my truck recently that I had on standby. I got it for a steal new in the box so it was a no brainer. I did not use any pre filter just bolted the FRB 5 onto the frame rail about 6 inches away front the stock location in some existing factory holes that were a perfect fit. New Bio hose both suction & discharge & I was off to the races.

Couple questions...?

Is a prefilter needed with the OEM tank sock? I really have no desire to be under there changing filters in that location, to be honest I am hoping not to go under there again for a very long time...

I spotted inside the FRB 5 when installing it a suction screen...I left it in there, should I be concerned?

My Tahoe still has the factory LP & I am will be looking to purchase a replacement for that someday also...

I see a newer Walbro pump option post...what's the scoop?

Is the FRB 5 now old news or have folks had issues with it?

What is the advantage with the new Walbro? And what is the cost?

Thanks in advance for sharing :)

Greg

The Walbro FRC10 is the latest and greatest for high pressure, high performance. For $145ish it has more pressure than most need, and the FRB5 is still a good choice for a daily driver vehicle. There is also that stock like Airtex unit that puts out 14psi at 35GPH, which is better than any stock unit and cheaper for the exact same body, bolts right in. However, since it is the same thing as stock units I cannot say that it will be reliable, but its like $55.

Amazon sells that one for around $50 FS: Airtex 8153

Looks like the spec is similar to the one I used: Delphi FP905 which is supposed to be the 93 Model year LP.
I have not seen the FP905 out there anymore. So this may be the replacement for it or close to it.
