I heard a few times that some are a bear to get to but could not find any threads with pictures on how exactly to get to them... is there any step-by-step on how to do that?

The only time you will have a problem is if your plugs are swollen. In that case you would have to buy or build a puller. Other than that it is pretty straight foward, use Antiseize when you replace them.

You wont know you have a swollen plug until you try.

Drivers side is real easy, you can get to them without any problem. On the passenger side I found it easier to pull the fender inner liner out to gain better access. Some people say they can pull the glows without pulling the inner liner. After the liner is out you can easily access all but #6. For #6 I found it easier to separate the downpipe from the turbo and let it drop down a bit. I used this same procedure to do the injectors.

I agree. For the right side the time to drop the fender liner and down pipe for #6 is easier than trying to work around them.

yes...inner fender on the passengers side is easiest. I actually left 6 alone until I do my downpipe. For the swollen ones, I pulled the injectors and pried the GPs out with pliers and a pry bar. Vaccumed out the precup (I did shove some gauze in there to make sure no big pieces fell in).

Yep pull the passenger side fender, it doesn't take that long and will give better access for glows and will also allow you check and clean the grounds on this side another worthy job while you are at it. When I did mine the heat shields for the glows/wires were rotted so I replaced those also.

Cheers

Downpipe just have to be loosen at the clamp to the turbo so it has wiggle room.

So, take of the tires, then take off the wheel fender.
From the top, take off the air filter housing so you can loosen the turbo to downpipe clamp.

Now you have access to all GP.
