Looking for a replacement radiator.........

Just got the injectors/GP's/crossover/A Team installed and am now looking to replace the 10yr old radiator. I have the upgraded Heath fan (which I've never heard come on even though temps have been above 200) and recently put in 180 t-stats.

Anyone have a line on a good replacement radiator, perhaps with extra cooling capacity? Alum or copper, does it matter which? I want to replace it, thoroughly clean everything (again) and this time install the screen across the grill to help keep the bugs/debris out of the unit.

I've searched and seen mention of a few radiators but don't know that anyone has posted any results of towing with a non stock radiator.

Another question, I have both a 96 and 99, do I need to worry about the OPS issues driving the lift pump or is that issue just the OBD-I trucks?

Thanks

Lance

Unless the OPS shows 0 psi on oil pressure, then you have to worry. It is not the portion that drives the OPS.

I just went through this. Its hard to find a good aftermarket radiator now. Visteons are now made in Mexico, if you can get one. Supply was spotty as they were (are?) in bankruptcy. Everything else I found was made in China. I could not find a US made radiator. Maybe Delcos still are, but they are expensive. I ended up with some sort of Visteon from Mexico. Its not the greatest, but it seems to work OK.

Performance Radiator carries Visteon. Otherwise have them recore your copper brass unit. Copper works better than the cheap AL stuff. With your mods AL vs. Copper does not matter.

These trucks have an airflow issue. Nothing wrong with the factory radiator size and a thicker one will NOT help per Ron Davis.
