Hi all.

looking for a recommendation of a good book/manual to describe the DS4 operation, repair and parts breakdown.

Just looking to increase my knowledge base.

I'm looking for paper (I'm a bit of a dinosaur, prefer written pubs), but "electrons" will also do....

Links also appreciated.

Cheers

I think it's all "Top Secret". I've had my eye out for anything like that and have found nothing. There had to be books to train with. One place I didn't look was amazon. The GM factory service manuals[that I have] tell nothing of the inner workings of the ds4 and the db2. I do have a GM training coarse on cd that somewhat explains the principals but no specifics.

I think Stanadyne is very concerned with their proprietary info. Which tells me it would be easy for someone to copy or improve.

How about ebay item 280543235748 ?

I've seen that one pop up from time to time. I think it's more of a general thing than specific to the IP.

Here's the table of contents as listed by the auction:

*
General Information
*
Mechanical Systems
*
Air Induction / Exhaust Systems
*
Fuel System
*
Engine Management
*
Diagnostics

Kinda sounds like the info available in the FSM.

Anyone own a copy and can offer an opinion?

I got an incomplete rebuild spec sheet and parts break down for the DS4 as used by the stanadine IP rebuiders.
It lists all service items done on these pumps minus some torque settings,it includes bench tests specs, but no info on the electronic parts, just adjustments.

The fellow i pilfered this info from said they can't test these electronic parts, just routinely replace them if they don't perform as should with the IP on the test bench.

Stanadine gives info only to diesel shops associated with Stanadine.

I have never be able to get any info from Stanadine at all.
