I need some 10.00 R20 ag/industrial tires for my irrigation system. A regular truck tread WONT climb the hills and they stopped making recapped tires with ag tread. Anyone have a line on these?

The ones I have found are reserved for a logging company but they are from a Gov overstock auction.

Ag as in terra tread or 'chevron'? Tractor tread?

I've got some 10.00 x 20's that came off the ol GMC single axle I have. They are caps that hold air (tubes) with the typical lock ring wheel. I'd call 'em useable, just chose to go radial tubless.

Truck is ugly huh? (I've got her looking better for the road now)

I will try and get better pics of the rears.. Best pic I have right now.

I take it a bias ply (non-radial) old school heavy lugged traction tire for a truck would be acceptable?

would a radial at low pressure do any better?

anything special about the wheels, or if a guy snuck up on some 24 inchers would that be do-able?

Well the next tire option is a 22.5 (not sure of the aspect) but those are 3-400/wheel and tire combo to refit the pivot, they are the same height as our 10.00x20's. Skid steer type tread, old wheat truck type traction tires, or tractor tread.

11r 22.5 would be approximately the same dimensions as a 10.00 x 20. A little shorter would be a 295/75/22.5, usually called low pros.

well I know for ag use, it doesnt hurt a thing to put 24.5 recaps on a 24 inch ag wheel, but sadly 22.5s are too big to fit on 20 inch rims.

what brand of pivots and what bolt patterns? if found cheap, would you upgrade to sizes like 11.2-24 or 12.4 -24?

Here and I thought I could get rid of the STACK of 10.00 20's to somebody.. :hihi:

Bias tires, innertubes and two piece wheels get no love.. lol.

IF they have an aggressive tread and are still solid I would be interested. My wheels require tubes as is so thats not an issue, the tread pattern is what matters.

2mro I am going to cut my old tubes and make whole tire patches (a sleeve in other words) so that the new tubes dont rub the separated inner casing of the tire. Farmer fix-it job that will likely last the summer. The 3 I did 2 summers ago are still running, dad buys new when he fixes it but I use bandaids.

great minds think alike. dad did that on our bicycles when we were kids. got cheap tubes from wal-mart, sleeved them, and they held up in the puncture vine/ goatheads. :)

we personally like the three piece wheels for old dayton trucks, IIRC firestone made many of the 3 piece ones. It has a solid ring then a small snap ring of sorts. IMO alot like a payloader, but wont seal tubeless.

tanner, how soon do you need tires? after the nevada trip, I will go dig in the tire pile, maybe we can scrounge up a few, but I know dad tries to find highway friendly radials.
