My Chinese rebuild starter motor always cranks strong though I've seen it struggle on the bench. Incidentally I though the brushes grounded through those two screws with o rings on the end plate. I didn't expect to see the o rings. Anyway my rebuilt solenoid is finally almost un-jumpable. The first didn't last a year and even may have been responsible for the drive sticking in the flywheel one time in the beginning. The 2nd solenoid didn't last either. the third time we put new end cap and contact washer on and it didn't work any better. I want to know why! But I better make sure the terminals are clean and tight first. Do you do a solenoid rebuild photo shoot? Is that Memphis solenoid/ inj. pump guy any good? He has a good price on a solenoid. Or should I just go for the Ultima starter from O' reilly.

If you can find a local rebuilder, you can buy rebuilt starter from them.
They probably have better quality parts than even the chain part store.
