Hey fellas - I've caught the diesel bug and I'm currently looking for my first truck. I've narrowed it down to an '06 GMC Crewcab and the search continues. I've been a Toyota fan for as long as I can remember, but I'm looking to do some trailer camping and the T100 just isn't going to cut it.

My name is Cameron and I'm a 19 year Army/Navy veteran, currently deployed to the big sandbox. Been stationed in Fairbanks, AK since '06 but moving back down to the lower-48 by the end of the summer. I look forward to spending countless hours perusing the threads learning as much as I can. Thanks for everyone's help along the way!

New ride

Thanks to wealth of information on this site - I came home with a 2007 Chevy 2500 from my local used car lot a few days ago. I was holding out for a '06, but this one had 11,000 miles and drove off the lot for $31,500 - couldn't pass it up.

It's bone stock. . . for now. Considering a Banks Intake and Monster exhaust, black nerf bars and a set of 285's in the near future. I hate the bull horn exhaust tip and the tricycle tires - but the ride is outstanding.

Get you some bigger tires and it'll ride 100X's better:beer: The pizza cutters don't quite cut it. lol

I agree. Bigger tires will make the truck look totally different and ride ALOT better.

Looks good, congrats on your purchase.

tracker954x4 - thanks again for running the VIN for me - it really made the buy a much easier purchase. I swung by the dealership it came from for a full maintenance report as well before making the deal. The previous owner appears to be even more meticulous on his upkeep than I. Made things too easy.

After researching all weekend, I decided to go ahead and drop some coin on the full Banks system as well. I ordered the Cold Air Intake, Monster exhaust, and Six-gun tuner package from dmaxstore.com. (Thanks again, Mike!) That should make things real interesting! I'll keep ya'll posted.

.

You're welcome. It's always easier when you know a little about a vehicle's history before you take the plunge.

Beautiful. I disagree on the tire change. Just because I am a cheap old former penny pinching banker. Wear them down to nothing, then change out.

Great score, and welcome!
