i have a very small crack on one outer bolt on my mains and i want to fix it as soon as i can. i saw it about a year ago and it hasnt got any worse but i have a turbo on it now and i just got a new job that will require a 30 mile drive to get there and 30 miles back every day. i only drive it around town now with some 100 mile trips every now and then. my job now is only a mile away so i dont get on the highway very much. what im wanting to know is how to do the lock n stitch. ive been reading about it and ive heard its a permanent fix. id like to do it to all the outer holes on the 3 main webs just so i wont have to worry about it. has anyone done this before and maybe can tell me some more about it. can it be done with the engine in the truck? would it be better to go with 10mm inserts or just go with the 12mm. i have a stud girdle and would like to reuse it and the studs but if i need to go with 10mm to make it more reliable and a better fix then thats what i will do. ive looked on the locknstitch web site and theres no prices for anything. about how much would it cost to do all 6 holes? ill be doing this and ive never done it befor so any help would be appreciated. i wont be able to do anything for a few weeks because i need the truck and dont get my paycheck until the 2nd week of march. so ive got some time to do more reading.
