what can cause limp mode? i have a truck which doesn't go over 80 kilometers/hour. Starts fine, runs fine, no smoke, no MIL, but she apparentely goes limp mode.

I expect Iwill know more this evening after I hook the scanner and read any potential DTC...

Its valintines day!! you should not be in "limp" mode:smilewinkgrin: Your girl should be able to get you out of limp mode.

What is that about 45-50mph? could be fuel dilervery or lack of it.

Fuel restriction. When it can only get so much fuel, that's the farm.

Air restriction would make black smoke.

Check fuel pressure - use a gauge on hose, taped to windshield wiper. Don't get any diesel fuel on the tape, or it'll come off and flap around while you drive.

(don't ask me how I know that)
