I'm wanting to upgrade my fuel system next to make sure my ip's gettin enough once I get a GL4 chip from Heath. I'm pretty sure my pump is workin now at least I opened up the t valve at idle and diesel streamed out. Every now and then tho it will hick up on acceleration. Did this before I change my head gaskets and turbo swap and still does it now. So I was thinking possibly my lift pump isnt quite keeping up. The only fuel mod done to my truck rite now is a #9 resistor. I'd like to go the the walbro pump that you all have been talking about. But what all will I need to buy to install it??? Which one of those racor filters would be best??? Someone please explain this micron thing. What do the numbers mean??

I used Heath's LP, have not done feed the beast, but get 2.5 psi @wot, 5.5 cruise and 8 at idle. never had it zero out, stock pumps almost always zero'd. don't know about walbro.

micron is how big the holes are in the filter im pretty sure. less micron more filter but less flow and vise versa. i know leroy(burning oil) sells walbro lift pumps so pm him for details

If you are going to turn this thing up, you might consider doing the feed the beast mod. That's a big heavy rig, it needs fuel!

Walbro put out almost exactly double the volume of my stock lift pump. I measured it myself (didn't take manufacturer's word for it).

This might be helpful. My advice it put a gauge on it. That will tell the tale.

Great except my tank sock is plugged and is coming out this weekend. I agree with Aces that a fuel pressure gauge is almost mandatory on our trucks.

sweet I think i'll start out wit puttin a guage on it and doin the feed the beast mod. I gotta get some rust takin care of onn my rocker panels here before winter tho gonna get it takin off and primed then get some line x sprayed over it.
