My 1995 1500 NatAsp lift pump is not working. I stabbed w/ 12v the pump and that runs fine . I'm not getting 12v to the coil side and I can't figure out where I'm suppose to get it from. any help would be appreciated

The fuel pump relay only energizes when you have teh starter engaged on an OBD1 truck. The oil pressure switch carries all of the current for the fuel pump when the engine is running. This is why so many add in a relay for the oil pressure sensor to keep the OPS from burning out. Put the truck in gear and hit the starter, you will hear teh fuel pump running from the fuel pump relay.

The motor is running(tank is full) and I crack the drain and it sucks air and stalls. about a year ago I changed the OPS and that fixed it last time.

I put mine on a 12 volt switch from the battery in Little D... works fine you just have to remember to cut it on and off. I used a lighted switch to help with that.

There is a proper way to do it with a relay.

Buddy has posted 2 diagrams that are easily followed.
It should be in the Technical Library.

Do it properly and you will need anymore of that OPS.

On another note, if you need to replace the OPS, please get an ACDelco OPS.

I put a pin in "F" and it fires right up. My question is did I apply 12v to the coil or am I powering the lift pump?
