I check my lift pump from time to time. Today it was giving me hot no start issues. Even stalled after starting. White smoke while cranking. Water on IP and shorting the GP controller almost did not help.

Finally started and lift pump was not making noise. Jumped pin G and it was clacking away loudly. With 1 PSi and I could pee faster that it's output from the drain valve...

The Autozone replacement, my price $50.00, is putting out over 10 PSI as my gauge readings stop there. Guessing less than 15 PSI from the extra range on the pressure vac guage.

Any advice on return line problems plugging up? Other things that may cause high pressure? Is the high pressure even a problem? (Was 7-8 PSI when the old pump was working.)

flt mgr always chews up a few strong psi in my experience. I've heard up to 14psi is safe AT THE IP. So even a pump putting out 15, would be closer to 10-12 after flt mgr.

Install an in cab fuel pressure gauge before the IP.

is the truck running good?

Just curious.......... what brand of lift pump did you get from autozone? If there isnt anything restricting the flow before your guage or on the return side i think i will get one from there. You ordered one for a 93 right? How much does the pressure drop when your driving it or at wot?

Do you have another gauge to compair and see if your gauge is accurate? Do you run any mixes of fuel (like veg oil?) My brother had a problem with a pluged return line.
