Lift pump ground

Hi all. I reheaded my 94 6.5. I also found my lift pump not working (bench tested). The new one also does not work. No ground. Also the fuel gauge pegs right at the top. Its not full of fuel. I assume I did not get a ground wire hooked back up, but I cannot find an unhooked one. Checking the grounds sticky on here I find much varieability between years and did not seem to find any specifically for the 94 Chev Siverado 3/4 ton. Just before the fuel tank sender connection There are three wires, one being a black wire dangling that I see no connection for. I wish I had a good wiring diagram. Anyway does anyone know where I should be looking? mark

Black ground wire goes to the frame. Follow the harness from the tank to find the ground wire. The dangling one likely is the one you need to ground. As I recall it goes on top of the frame so it is hard to see. Make sure it is a clean ground.

The OPS is probably the culprit also. On a 94-95, the OPS controls the LP.

So make sure you have a good OPS. You may say, well the oil gauge still shows pressure.
You are correct, but the part that controls the LP is different.

I can be wrong but the ground may be at the OPS side.

Black wire grounded does not seem to give a ground at the lift pump or rectify the fuel sender. There is positive electricity at the red wire at the lift pump. I assume I could make a new ground for the lift pump, but may leave other issues. mark

I would bet your cuprit is Grounds, from the battery's to the engine (2) also there are grounds from the frame to the body, from the battery to the body and there are 3 that go to the back of the engine that always corrode or break, Go thru all of them, clean the dirty connections and replace the bad wires, Alot of things will start working Better once you do that
