Hi All,

I should be billing GM for my "engineering" time as I redo the fuel supply side of our 96 6.5 Suburban.

Has anyone used the AC-Delco Lift pump part # EP 1000? I spoke with Ac-Delco in MI today and they told me this is speced at 8-12PSI @ 13.5 volts (+/- 1 volt) and flows 21 GPH.
The OEM lift pump is the EP 309 that specs out at 2 PSI @ 13.5 volts (+/- 1 volt) and flows 23 GPH.

On this site I have seen posts for the EP 158 which specs out at 9-14 PSI @ 12.0 volts and flows 22 GPH.

I am plumbing both a frame rail LP and the Walbro FRB 5 in parallel to end the nonsense of retarded fuel supply once and for all. I am looking to do this once and not come back to revisit it again.

Thoughts?

Thank you,
Ted

Just put an Airtex E8153 on mine and pretty happy with it over stock. It is listed at max 14psi plus 35 gph universal diesel application. Found it after some research for around $53.00. Don't know how it would match up to the FRB 5. Wonder if the flow rate would match up or matter?

"Walbro FRB 5 in parallel" Why bother? Just put the FRB 5 in and forget about the lift pump for awhile. The FRB 5 is holding the record on mine that put a carter rotary vane pump to bed early: in under 6 months!
