I'm looking to add some LED fog lights to the BURB. My 55watt halogen projectors I had before were about worthless compared to my HID low beams, and you could barely tell they were on. Anybody know some that aren't priced sky high? I'm looking at the TruckStar 18 watt flood lights as I found them for a good price in bulk(set of 6 for $125, and could use them on the mowers and boat). Just looking to see if anybody has used any, or had experience with these?

I don't think those would work well as a fog light...I'm sure the beam pattern and distance weren't designed for that purpose...

I'm sure James will chime in soon though...

those are a flood light and I have some very similar ones mounted on the back of my truck. They are by far the best reverse lights I have ever had. They put out a substantial amount of light especially if you need to work on something and need light. The reason I bought them is to light up the campsite and they do that well. They are 28 watts each. As for fog light, driving light or something else. I would advise something like these http://stores.intuitwebsites.com/hstrial-QualiRegResou/-strse-41/Model-60-LED-off/Detail.bok I have a pair on my m/c and they light up the road much better than my headlight. They put out about 3000 lumens but are a flood light. Even at midday, I can light up a reflective stop sign from quite some distance away, Actually looks pretty neat when I have them on strobe function.

nice...excellent that they use Cree XM-L T6 LEDs...very bright...

but $200 for the pair is a bit pricey...

on edit: I see you can get them on ebay for $162 shipped for the pair

Those are a Flood Light. Good for a Reverse Lamp, but def. won't do Good as a Fog.

I have that Lamp as the Reverse Light on my 4x4 ATV and it does a damn Good Job as that.

I may go ahead and pick up the set of 6 for $125 just to have them as lights are always handy to have around. The search continues for a foglight.

where do you guys mount them as reverse lights? And, do you put them on a dedicated switch?

If you go with LED flood lights or such, then the factory wiring would probably suffice. The stock bulbs use about 1.5 amps each, and the 18 watt LEDs are right there at 1.5 amps. I know most mount them just outside the receiver hitch.

So they truly become the reverse lights? Cool.
I can see the upity BMW, Mercedes, etc., types faces at the shopping center when I take my wife (rarely) and throw it in reverse. :hihi:

Here is 4 pics, the 1st pic is without the flash standing directly behind the truck 3 hours past sunset so yeah it's dark here. Kinda odd where the pic is brighter without the flash. And the lights below the license plate, they are 35 watt halogens. And I just noticed I have a burned out stock reverse light. Like I'd notice eh! If anyone wants the link to the top led lights. Here it is http://www.ebay.ca/itm/27w-4-square...Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cc785e4dd&vxp=mtr
