I think my fuel filter manager is starting to leak intermitantly. I have noticed some fuel drippings right in the middle of the driveway between the tires approximately. I know the heater and the manager are separate units that mate together. Is there anything short of replacing them to remedy the problem?

Thanks!

More than leaking O rings most "leakers" I've encountered have been due to hose leaks when rubber hose has gotten hard and spring clamps don't have enough tension to seal the rubber, replace them with worm screw style hose clamps

The hoses and clamps are all less than 2 years old so I can't imagine that they are failing already.

Are they spring clamps ????, if so then yes they can leak early, if worm screw type then yes and early fail unless they weren't tight enough to be gin with, also you say new rubber hose, did you use Diesel fuel rated hose.

New screw type clamps and diesel rated lines. I'll double check them when I get it out for inspection.

FYI,

The leak most likely is at the little o ring on the side of the manager. You will get a viton one from the dealer. That said, you are better off getting a nitril o-ring from a hydraulic shop to fit. It is more compatible with diesel and bio if you run it. Viton isn't that great for diesel, as it turns out.

I'd replaced my hoses too, not long ago, but that valley is crazy hot. My plastic covering was melting into the fuel hose.

Good luck.

The bottom of the heater rots out over time and the fuel will leak out at the wiring harness in the bottom.

Choices

Replace the whole unit with a decent filter like a Racor 230R2
Replace the heater assembly.

If its a hose issue or an o ring thats an easy fix.

Get the unit loose and wipe it dry, run the rig and see where its leaking.

The drain hose that runs to the front can spring a leak as its under pressure as is the feed hose to the IP.
