Hello All,

I am starting this thread for all to post(hopefully pictures), of their KNOWN FIXES, for issues with the 6.5L engine. This will solve alot of explanations for simple questions. You can simply tell what you did to solve a problem. Pictures would be nice.

Random Stalling - PMD

If it dies for no reason, it is likely the PMD, or pump mounted driver.

Purchase a kit that relocates the PMD out of the engine compartment. Heath makes a great one.

Mine has been on for 2 years, of it's 7 year warrantee. They are better now, with the revised PMD.

Simple fix for second battery terminal location

Those common side post batteries have a hard time staying tight with just a simple single connection. On the 6.5l you have 1 battery that has 2 connections on a single battery. It is very hard to sinch them down because the bolt is being tightened into threads into the battery. As you all know lead is a very soft pliable material.
A known solution is replace that single long terminal bolt with a long regular bolt, hopefully a class 5. It would be long enough to include some washers and spacers and a nut. You can then put both battery cables onto the bolt, with washers and spacers, so you know both cables will have a good connection. Then you tighten the bolt into the battery very carefully. Then you take your 2 wrenches and CRUSH the 2 battery cables together. You can really reef on them so they will become almost one unit. Most likely they will never get loose again.
This will stop weak connections at this point.
Pictures will follow.

Thanks for the reply Veg,

It is relocate on the skid plate underneath the truck. It should stay cool there. I was reading about grounding it. DOes the heath kit need a separate gound wire?
