K47 How to Fit to '95??

My son bought a K47 airbox but they did not include the fitting from the fender wall:

Any recommendations how to mod the box to fit the '95 fender well fitting?
 
That plastic adapter is no longer available from GM.. Try and get if from where ever you got the air box . Otherwise you'll have to make something.
 
X2 way different part. I just put in on my 1995 and it needs the K47 fender adapter to work. I also pulled the rubber nut out of the flat panel and installed it upside down to hold in the bottom of the box with a single bolt. So the rubber nut is in the bottom of the K47 with the large part down and bolt through the fender. I wire tied the silencer tube to the battery cable to keep it out of the fan.

That, my friend, is the problem. I called on a few of the ones n Car part and when they told me they did not have that part, I called GM and found out they don' make it. I was lucky, Justin hooked me up with one. If not for that I was going to get the S&G through Heath.
 
I just went out and played with it. Pulled his existing adaptor from the fender. If you flipped the adaptor, it would be possible to fit the fender side to the K47. You have to trim off the outer flange and cut two notches in it to lock onto the tabs of the K47. There would be two finger wide gaps at the bottom, but you could fill those in with foam. The issue would be filling in the gaps on the fender side.

Not looking too bad. What I think I'll do is: 1) convince Colby, 2) cut the two notches in the adaptor to lock onto the tabs of the K47 (see tab towards top of the gap in pic 2), and 3) fill the bottom gaps and attach adaptor to fender well with 5200 marine sealant. Once that 5200 stuff sets, it's pretty permanent. Unfortunately, I only have the 5200 in white.:D

Edit: Went out and showed Colby and this won't work, as the flat box fender adaptor is too wide and pushes the K47 box into the turbo:rolleyes5::???:.

Wide door or gap seal sticky foam found at the hardware store. Toss the plastic adapter. Use the foam to bridge the gap between the filter and the fender.
 
Home heating and air conditioning tape, two kinds, one is aluminum on a paper peeling backing and the other is like a fibered 4 inch wide tape. U use it upside down so stuff doesnt stick to it as it goes thru the intake adapter and put a layer on top of this to cover the sticky that is now on the outside and assemble. It can stand the vibration, temperature and humidity no problem. Once exposed to the emgine bay heat it will sorta cure in place but still flex to handle torqueing and stress from road vibration etc. The stuff is incredible! Can be painted and stays nice and black if u use the black stove paint. I have almost made a muffler 4 the old Mercedes and its doing great after a year.
