One of the captive nuts in the body is spinning with the bolt so i can't remove the old shot body mount.

Is there any other way to hold the nut still so i can remove the bolt other than cutting a hole in my floor that i just repaired?

Could've been worse i suppose. Three of the 4 main mounts came apart fine, and they looked awful. Still have to do the rear 4 and the core support ones so i'm sure i'm in for more rounds in the battle with rust.

Nope, get out your holesaw. That is what I always did. You'll probably need to leave the hole you cut there so you can use a wrench on it to tighten it as well.. Just put a plastic plug in it.

I ran into the same problem when I had to do mine. The only way you can keep it still is to jam them in there. You might be able to spot weld it in once bolt is outta the way.

You just jammed something in there to hold them in place? You didn't have to holesaw your floor? I tried jamming a prybar in there but i couldn't hold the nut in place. I didn't have much time to fight with it though. I"ll have to give it a go again on my next day off from work.

I had to cut for one of them. I took a pickle fork and wedged it between the mount and the body itself. the hole saw is alot easier to do.

that won't work for this mount. The bottom of the mount(cup and bottom rubber ring) is gone. Even jacking the body up a tad didn't put any tension on the mount. It still spun.

Looks like i'll be getting out my hole saw this week.:mad2::incazzato:

Like I said, just get a plastic plug and pop it in the hole. I can probably mail you some as soon as I see what sizs I have. I had to plug some holes in the burb from all the FD stuff so the plastic plugs I bought came in boxs of like 20.

let me know what size plugs you've got, so i know what size hole to make. :hihi:

Tossing around the idea of testing out my Holley LP tomorrow, just to have something to do.

You can also use the metal plugs used to block off extra holes in an electrical panel, they come in a lot of sizes

ARC WELD it right off from the bottom just turn the welder up and hit it, it while cut somewhat like butter, its not like your going to reuse the old shit.
