OK, All the trouble is over. I decided to spend 50.00 on an original equipment Delco Remy, Japan, supposedly off a 98 chev truck 6.5 auto. The auto doesn't matter anymore the dealer says. They drilled off the number so I wouldn't complain about it I presume. I was sceptical of course but I got it for at least solenoid value and it's worked every time! No more clicks. No...you got low voltage crap. It's got funny blue paint on it, a little corroded, maybe come off who knows what but it works.

MT and auto trucks have different nosecone designs. Double check the nosecone matches up.

I did. I'm playing with the old one now. It seems like the motor will jamb and not turn sometimes. solenoid clicks strong but contacts n/g. Yeah this MT has funny blue paint. I hear that john deer, bigger trucks, fords, farm equipment, foreign cars, ... all take them at times with different noses.
