all i want this for is to adjust my speedo fo my bigger tires and to get rid of the speed limiter. but it also has an option for tranny shift points. will thing regnozize that my truck is a diesel and it will not rev to 6000 RPMs like its gas counterparts. i know Heaths GL4 also programs the tranny too so i will remove the tranny shift point feature once i get a GL4.

sorry i dont know the rules for posting links so if im not allowed to post links to other products that vendors dont sell im sorry i didnt mean to do it out of spite

I believe up until 99 GM still used a VSSB on the diesels. The VSSB is calibrateable with just changing jumpers inside of it. Look behind your glovebox where your ECM is and see if you have a small white box with 2 plugs in it mounted below the ECM. If you do then this will adjust it for you. Removing the speed limiter requires re-programming though if you adjust the VSSB.

Just hacked my VSSB this afternoon. The hardest part was getting it out. As noted previously, it was a 30 minute job.

so back to my first question. say i switch my jumpers so i have corrected my speedo and the VSSB is corrected will this Jet Accu spped calibrater change my shift points and be able to get rid of speed limiter or will it just flat out not work because my vehicle is still equipped with the VSSB system

Chris is correct... the speed limiter has nothing to do with your VSSB/DRAC, which handles your speedometer accuracy. Unless you want to try a BS 'fooler' tactic, where you put your speedometer off by a whack in an attempt to try and 'fool' your PCM into thinking you are only going 70mph when you're really doing 130mph... never tried that and don't know if it would work, but I can't see wanting my speedometer to be off just so I could go fast once.

The right way is to get rid of the speed limiter in the PCM programming - in other words, get a reflash and ASK specifically for the speed limiter to be removed. (otherwise it will still be there)

This is essentially what the JET unit does. It quits showing you going faster once you reach roughly 90 MPH, the speedo stops moving but you keep accelerating. With the 4L80E this causes codes for gear ratio errors whereas the 4L60E doesn't throw codes for it since it doesn't calculate gear ratios.

Money better spent would be towards a Heath Reflash... Not only will it remove that speed liit but make your truck all around better powerhouse.

well my truck is already throwing codes because there is too much electricity going to my EGR valve so add it to the list. i get what your saying about how its better just to buy the Heath then mess around and waste money on this controller that can only do one thing. thanks guys i will just keep saving for the Heath GL4
