Just like last time I played with a hose, changed some filter stuff...the filter seemed bad not clogged....the Wix looked the same but ...it failed again. I had to crank the air out of the lines. Then on the next day I calmly decided to crank it without the cold advance activated and it started and slowly idled without stalling like the last time it fixed itself 2 yrs ago. After running for a brief time then I kicked up the idle by engaging the cold advance. Once its run a bit it can take the cold advance. Sound like head and rotor? Bad enough to affect cold operation? Or the cold air earlier this time helped shrink the leak?

If your pulling in air that's going to mess with starting real bad. Or was it just air after replacing filter that you had air?

Have you checked the regular timing lately? Maybe it's too advanced and the cold advance is pushing it out of range.

No never. It does run hot but I think that's because of the hot summer and radiator clogging up again. Possible head gasket. I removed the thermostat and it's very drivable except when going up hills. Down hill it seems that the accelerator can't keep up with the rpms. Smoke out the exhaust until I give it alot of gas. Sometimes doesn't seem to do that though and maintains... all timing related stuff.
