These two batteries just crapped out on me after just over 2 years. I bought them in Mexico when my other two batteries that came with the truck died. FYI, GM doesn't honor their battery warranty from Mexico, even though their warranty states "North America". I bought some Optima's that are made in Mexico, but have 3 years exchange warranty to replace the Delco's.

When the GM dealer in Manzanillo brought these out they were covered in dust. I had no way of knowing how old they were. The only thing I could find that resembled a date code was these stickers(. Same numbers except the last 4, which look like the year they were made?

2001 and 2006?? Remember I bought them "new" May 2008.

From ACDelco.com:

How do I read the warranty date code on my battery?The warranty date code is located on the top label of the battery. The first character is either a P or S. The next two digits determine the month, the third digit is year and the fourth digit indicates the manufacturing plant. For example, P 098N means the battery was made in September 2008.

From that info, I would say the number you show is not the date code.

IDK...those are batteries mfr'd for sale in mexico though...I find it pretty coincidental that each battery would have 2001 or 2006 as the last four digits...

póliza [po’-le-thah]noun
1. Check, draft, an order for the payment of money. (f)
2. Póliza de seguro, policy of insurance. (f)
3. A permit of the custom-house. (f)
4. Entrance-ticket for some ceremony. (f)
5. Tax stamp (impuesto). (f)
6. Insurance certificate (de seguro). (f)

póliza feminine noun
1. (insurance) policy (de seguros) (* i.e. warranty)
2. = stamp on a document showing that a certain tax has been paid

* my interpretation

my guess it's either a date that tax was paid on each battery or the warranty /insurance policy expires the 365th day of (in this case) 2001 & 2006
