IP rebuild service

i am just going by what is told to me. but i think you are right that there cant be much that goes wrong but i do have a feeling that a place like Diesel specialty, here in omaha who wants $600 to rebuild a db2 must be replacing a whole lot of parts or there hourly rate is very high.

Ask them! Someone who has a shop/garage/employees can't compete with someone who does them at their house and only form of business ovehead is Ebay/Internet.

If a guy just rebuilds them as demand comes, and is happy making 50 extra bux that night to slap one together in this economy so be it.

You don't know that to be true. This guy could have a real shop and employees. He may figure it is better to make a buck than to not have any business trying to charge ten.
Where I used to work, when thing got slow the boss would take on work for cost just to keep everyone working. When you lay employees off you risk loosing them. Better to loose some profit than the people that can make it for you.:grouphug: Or perhaps other places are gouging everyone:eek:

we will see i beleive he has employees. I have a feeling that it is just like Bk says. i may have a problem with trusting people to easily but he has a very good ebay score and that isnt easy to get i dont think he has any bad feedback. he has been a very nice person to work with i talked with him for a half hour the first time i talked to him.

Normally gut feelings are the best thing to go by. If no red flags go waving while you're talkin to him thats a pretty good indication.

X2......Thats my program!.....Better to make something than nothing, or go home.

Sometimes business has a way of humbling a person, especially in a crappy economy....There's a big difference in getting a paycheck every week, and MAKING a paycheck, or making overhead for that matter.

Something else that bares mentioning is that this guy could have a great source for parts. His cost could be less and he passes the savings on. It sounds like he has great communication skills and a concern for making things right. Lets hope that holds true. At this point if I needed a ip rebuilt , I'd be willing to take a chance with him.

I asked him about an inj. return line kit and mentioned I heard about him here. I have seen his ads before but thought it would be good for him to know there are customers here. He said he was going to start advertising here soon. His reply was quick, I hate waiting for one.
