Does any one here have a breakdown (list) of the Bxxx codes for the IP chips in the ecm? Looking at a couple of trucks (w/ 6.5's of course) both have a few issues nothing major but still need attension. The reason I am asking the IP's have been changed in both and I want to make sure the IP matches the chip. Both trucks wont stay running long and both have ses lights on. Haven't checked codes yet but they haven't been right since the "mechanic" (aka owner of trucks who knows nothing of 6.5's) put the pumps in. The big problem is they are at his place and I can't do to much to them cause if I can get them running he wants more for them, so ia m trying to get a quick diagnosis before I offer him some $$$$$. Thnaks Y'all

He expects a lot. Can't get them to run but if you can he wants you to pay him for your knowledge. Whatever happened to as/is?

Sorry, don't have a clue to the codes but I'm sure they have been listed before and recently.

Leo

Get the IP #'s off the labels, also noting the label color: black, blue, red, etc - DS4-xxx-xxxx - post the year and series\gvwr for each #

Looked again the one doesent quilify for the ? I asked earllier IE. 1999 burb k1500 4x4 s code 4L80e. 5521 pump

2nd one does though, 1994 K3500 4x4 dually crewcab f code 5068 pump nv4500 BNTF chip.

ya Leo kinda what I thought. But what is nice he works afternoon shift I work days so i am there when he is not ; ). I think I can get both for $2500.(whoops maybe shouldn't have said that planning on fixin' and sellin' em both) Both over 100k burb body is perfect, truck is typical for NE OH some rust bottom of doors, bottom of bed, cab corners....

Likely they both need timing with a scantool - you could start by verifying each ESO is exactly vertical to horizontal plane across valve covers - that should be within a gnat's ankle of +3.5*BTDC IP timing, which should start and run - that is, if he correctly timed the pumps to the cam-gear

BNTF doesnt even show up on the list.

Maybe BNTB, or a number of others, or the PROM database caldata is missing it, which is possible, or its a custom build.

Have you physically looked at the chip yourself?

Yea I got the letters right off the chip. Tag is missing of ecm so I can't check with that. owner says he didn't touch them but who knows?
Next ? can you tell what the stock(original)one was with the info I gave or do you need more? 1994 K3500 4x4 dually crewcab f code 5068 pump nv4500

There are many chips for each IP, depending on body\chassis\drivetrain configuration - BNTF is a valid checksum for a 3500drw chassis - I sent one to BH exchange for his first hi-output chip for my truck - I used the manual transmission chip with my T400 to eliminate the 4L80E DTC's

Again, the IP's prolly need a scan and timing - the DTC's will tell the tale - use the paperclip method and read the flashes - each DTC number repeats three times before moving on to the next DTC -
one flash pause two flashes
pause pause
one flash pause two flashes
pause pause
one flash pause two flashes
pause pause

is DTC12, meaning all ok - which those two ain't.................
