My Mcafee has been removing trojans alot this week. Am I the only one? I just got one at the DP forum. I heard it was an IE problem. Is that true? Whats good for surfing the net?

Mike, I have read on the other side they have some kind of a problem going on. There are many people complaining to them about several threats being picked up by various software. As far as it being an IE problem I have not read that. I personally do not use IE I use Firefox and I am protected by Avast software for virus protection.

Firefox has a lot less overhead and is missing a few of the IE vulnerabilities, but a fully-patched IE is pretty stable. Trick is keeping them fully-patched.

DP still shows as problematic - Norton, PCTools, Trend, and and Defender say there is an issue with a trojan in their scripting, but the DP admins are saying that it's all been taken care of, no worries.

However, you aren't the first guy I've seen who says he picked up a bug over there in the last few days... my advice? Wear a condom. Make sure your Antivirus is active and up-to-date, that you are patched and up to date with your browser (Use Firefox, IMHO), and run a spyware adjunct - active Spysweeper, Spybot, Superantispyware, or Malwarebytes - not just the scanner.

I am back ot using IE since FF started to misbehave and I let my antivirus program MSE do the work of protecting me.
