When I purchased my turbo master a couple of years ago, I set it to 2.25 inches of spring length. Instructions said 2 inches, but I do not have any gauges, so I thought I would turn down the boost. I have been getting approx. 19 - 20 mpgs since.

This weekend I turned the turbo master spring to the recommended 2 inches before I went to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. I got 21.7 mpgs on the way there .

Seemed to have a little more pep (makes sense) and less black smoke on hard acceleration.

I think I will keep it at 2 inches.

Interesting, your probably burning more efficiently perhaps?

I'm also at 2 1/4... I'm going to document mileage a few weeks then i'll try 2 inches.

If you had a little black smoke, you were probably a little 'rich' and where not getting a complete burn. Now your have a better air/fuel ratio and are burning your fuel more efficiently, thus using less fuel.

Exactly what I was thinking. Still too much black smoke for my liking. Probably need new injectors at the least. A new ATT and new ECM from Heath would be awesome!

The new Heath ECM will cost you some mileage as you won't be able to keep your foot out of it. Well worth it though. Shoot me a PM and I'll take you for a ride. I'll have you buying one that day. :D

Anyone know what differing spring lengths equate to? For example: PSI at 2 1/4, 2, or even 1 3/4.

Right from my turbo master paperwork from Heath

Step 7
Preliminary boost setting:

A spring length of 1-3/4” will provide approximately 14 psi boost pressure, which is the recommended maximum.
Boost pressure should be measured at full-throttle and full-load in the 2200-2500 rpm range.

I usually get 15.5 MPG but, for my most recent trip I got 18.5!

I wish I could get 21 MPG.

ATT, Exhaust, Chip, Load it up! You should get alot more than that being a 'light', empty PU 2wd 5-speed.

Mod her up! Get going! DO IT! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It takes money and I have none right now!

I understand. It took me 3 years before I started modding mine. People would say that stuff to me, so I'm saying it to you :)

When you're ready, the truck will still be there! And she'll be ready too!
