Ok,,, So I'm looking to replace the injectors on my 94 turbo 6.5. It has a 3 in body lift which made swapping out the glow plugs Very easy. Now when it comes time for the injectors,, Exactly what all Do I have to remove??

IE: How to: instructions on a DIY injector replacement.
I know you guy's and gal, have been there before and have a few ideas of what needs to come off,,, what can be moved aside, and what speical things to look out for.

Thanx in advance!!

nothing if your careful. make sure to get a socket with wrench flats on it or grind your own flat spots.

I took this pic,, U can see the rear injector in the photo,, but it looks like I'll have to pull the turbo and the heat sheild thingy to get to the other ones,,

This motor went in 2 years ago,, So all of the exhaust bolts and such shouldn't be a problem,, I have a impact, sockets, (I can rent a 30mm injector socket form the Zone) and a bunch of other tools, and a big O'l compressor. Only thing I don't have is a Flame Wrench! :rolleyes5:

Do you really have to pull the upper intake? Seems like the injector install kit comes with gaskets for that.

Pulling the turbo would make it easier, I didn't. The upper intake doesn't need to come off. Just pull the wheel well out on the pass side.

Yank the turbo off and the metal heat shield that fastens to the VC bracket.

You can then get to all the needed parts.

You will need an injector install kit (comes with the little return hoses and such)

The fuel line is a standard wrench size. Get an injector socket to remove the injectors.

The LH side is easy.

Blow off the entire area around the injectors with compressed air to make sure there is not any junk that will fall in the holes before you pull them.

Use some never seaze on the injector threads and dont forget the copper gasket.

Have fun
