Inside Door Handle not working

My inside door handle lately has felt like it is barely opening the door when it it fully extended. As of yesterday it don't work at all, it just feels like it isn't quite pulling the linkage far enough. Anybody had this problem? Is there an adjustment or something?

Quite a common thing, actually. There's a linkage (metal rod) that goes from the inside door handle to the the latch - it clips in there. But, if it had popped out, the handle wouldn't work at all. The likely cause is the poor quality "pot metal" that used for handle. It bends and eventually breaks. The easiest thing is to get a new assembly (interior door handle) from GM. I think my dad paid about $40 for a new one when we fixed his last summer.

I think I recall seeing another thread about this? Can probably find it with a search.

No adjustment, only replacment. Prety easy job though. Remove inner door panel, open access panel inside door, disconnect linkages, drill out rivet holding old door handle in and remove. asembly is reverse and youcan use a self tapping screw instead of a rivet to hold the old one in place.
