I just put my Bosch Marie nozzles in, popping at 2650-2700 psi. I swear the turbo whistles more now maybe because the engine tone is different.

Anyhow I know which injector is tapping, it was torqued correctly to 50 ft lbs. I don't notice the tap until the engine was warmed up and after my test drive I tore the injector out and tore it apart, cleaned and re assembled. But it still tapps!!

can someone also share their secrets on how to fix a leaky injector at the body? I have tried one awhile ago and didn't have luck (with my only instructions being to take it apart clean the machine seal and put it back together at 50 ft. lbs.

Well the tapping went away after getting the boost past 5psi twice, weird though. Now I just have to disassemble the leaky ones and lap them

How old is your IP? Wonder if old IP can handle that high pop pressure?

I can be wrong, though. The fuel goes from IP to injector.

Haha funny you bring my IP into the question, I was very worried about that going into this. It is a 6.2 IP turned up. I thought the timing would be way off but it doesn't seem to be and I think its the original IP if not close to it. I have always been surprised by this pump it has really flowed more then what I need. I maxed it out once and ended up turning it down due to high egts.

As for the pop pressure settling in they do, I am not sure how quickly and how much but I read on a vw forum that the tolerance is 300 psi anywhere 300 psi below spec or lower calls for a re-pop or rebuild but I would bet it takes awhile for them to drop 300 psi. Also the springs, shims and other internals are being re-used so there is no compression or break in on the spring, only the new nozzles which won't really compress.
