I recently bought a 2000 pickup and it smokes like crazy no problem says I but I have just about exhausted any avenues of repair except for the injector pump.
The fella I bought it from says that he bought one pump from pensacola diesel and it was bad so they sent him another one I am coming to the conclusion that this one is bad to. Has anybody had any bad luck with injector pumps from pensacola diesel?
My valves and valvetrain look to be in good working order and although there has not been a teck2 run on the pickup it smokes way to much to just be a little out of time in my thinking. Am I totally wrong or looking in the wrong areas?:mad2:

Everything is clear and as far as the boost I have no idea but will get a guage and check it. the smoke is grey and upon start-up is light but noticable but after it warms up there are no mosquitos for miles. It also has a slight miss at an idle. When the pickup is run down the road the smoke is still there but not near as thick.

Please look up to the top of this page,, to the left under the Title of our site,, and Click on USER CP,, and fill out a Signature. That will tell us what year make and model your working on, also include any mods' you have done. Helps us to help you with out as many questions, have you done a compression test, or a blowby test? Maybe even go to the Diagnostic check list, and fill that out also. If given the right info, these guys and gal. on here have been known to be uncanny in thier abillity to diagnois almost every problem! :)

ok after running a compression test and extensive conversation with Bill Heath it looks like I will be calling diesel depot for a quote on a rebuilt engine any thoughts or pointers on what to get or services to have run or installed before it is shipped?
