Injector install question

I just recieved my reman injectors from Accurate Diesel. They are stamped Bosch Germany and Bosch France, hopefully they're the real deal! Anyway, the injectors themselves have a brass washer on them and the install kit has a set of them also. I assume I just need to use one set or the other correct? How about anti seize compound on the injector and glow plug threads, good idea or not?

Plan on doing glow plugs, injectors, compression test and installation of the A Team Turbo in one weekend. I hope to have "new" truck performance!

One brass crush washer per injector. (new) Be sure the old one comes out, they have in my experience.

Anti-sieze on glow plugs for sure. Not sure if you need it on injectors as its such a large socket. Not sure if it would hurt, but let someone else chime in there.

Truck should have BETTER THAN NEW performance when you're done!!

Exciting stuff. Read up on the recent glowplug threads to prevent mishap.

You want to use the new brass washers when you reinstall the new injectors. they are a one time use compression washer. I use anti-sieze on both the injectors and glow plugs. I also soaked (or sprayed) all the bolts, injectors and glow plugs I was going to remove for three days with PB blaster. all of them came out well (broke free) without a problem. Even with removing the passengers inner fenderwell and turbo it only took me about 7 hours and I am no mechanic. Good luck and take your time.

You will have no problems with the injectors. I bought two sets from Tim. No issues. I just bought 1 injector this week for the CUCV.

Ok, I'll Bite.

Took eveyone's comments to heart and jumped on.

Ordered a set of injectors with glows tonight and went to dinner. Had an email waiting when we got back saying the order ships tomorrow.
:wow: That's fast!

The order will be here waiting when I get back next Saturday. Injectors, glows, cross over, 4" exhaust all coming in the mail next week and Columbus Day off to put it all in. :hurray: I'll be able to fix that leaky valve cover too (thanks for the post on that topic Missy). What will I do without oil on the driveway?

Thought I might add a few more tips to this. First off while you have the inner fender well out you might as well clean up your grounds. I thought I had done a pretty good job cleaning them from under the truck but found out different once I could see what I was doing. There is one on the firewall as well as the one on the frame rail.

My bolts on heat shields for the glow plugs were rusted to the point I couldn’t remove them so I wound up just unplugging them with a pair of hemostats and then using the hemostats to plug them back in once I replaced the glow plugs.

Check the bolts on the starter bracket as well.

Torque what you can to the proper specs. The torque specs are in the tech library

Starter bolts torque to 40 ft/lbs.

I just dropped my starter today and my nut on the brace was loose, so defanately good idea to check that badboy out... dont' want no snapped blocks.

FAQ specs say starter bracket bolts/nuts are 30 ft/lbs that seems an AWEFUL lot to me considering you can't get anything but a 1/4 ratchet stubby in there and they are such small bolts. Is it a misprint perhaps?

Are you sure that isn't inch pounds on the starter bracket. Mitchell shows starter to block bolts for diesel being 33 ft/lbs (45N/M) nothing is shown for the bracket. I'd just go good and snug. One half grunt at the most.
