The sellers id is pumpguy246, anyone ever buy from him? His price is less than half the dealers, I don't have $1007 for a new pump. Heres the link to his auction
TD edit ebay link removed, product competes with product sold be site vendors, this one is a tough call as we don't have a vendor for remanned IPs but it does compet with vendors selling new ones so by rules it has to go, those interested feel free to discuss off line direct hot links sort of becomes free advertising to a non site supporting entity, if you do buy from pumpguy246 suggest he become a paying vendor here advertising rates are very reasonable to what I've seen at other sites I'm on a tight budget since I'm on work comp, any input would be appreciated. Can you get parts to rebuild your own pump? If I replace the IP, should I replace the lift pump and OPS?

Howdy glad to see you made it over. One of the things you need to check is what pump your running now being that you have a 94. If it's a 5068 then you might have to change your pcm or use a 5068 pump.

The problem I have with that is the tag is missing off my pump, someone in the past thought it was a bright idea to tear it off. Is there a way to tell the difference in them without the tag.

not as far as I know but if all else fails get the info off your pcm and post it up there's a few guys around here that will know.

It might not be a "brilliant idea" thing. I understand that the tag on there

is only associated with factory IP's. Once you have to replace the IP, I hear the tag isn't there. For whatever reason:confused:

The tag with the pump serial and model number would still be on the pump even as a reman. The little colored tag is the one that may or not be there.

on the back. It's hard to see . You will probably need a mirror. Pensecola sells DS4's pretty reasonably and I hvae not heard bad about them.

Thanks for the tip on the tag on back, I'm assuming its a 5068. This is what the tag had on it

So you definately have a 5068. The next thing I would do is verify that you have the right pcm in your truck. If you don't it might be the cause of some of your problems.

Wasn't really vendors fault new old stock IP they had purchased from another dealer getting out of the IP biz, one I paid new price for vs remanned price thinking I was getting a better IP, 2x cost for new vs reman was a good deal much less than a dealers IP, until it acted up a month later and they told me no warranty since it was a surplus sale, they did make arrangements for it to be repaired at Midwest fuel injection, at no cost to me, still tweaked me some as it was 2nd time in month the IP came off, and I'll be pulling again a 3rd time possibly soon.

My IP still has issues a month later, it runs but not as crisply as it did when I 1st put it on; depending how they manage that will determine whether or not I recommend them again PFI is not same company it once was, selling Herzog injectors vs Delphi & Bosh ones they use used to sell is an indication of some of the negative changes they have made.

M and D here in Houston has the pump but its $1096 ,new or reman is the same price. I replaced the rubber fuel lines and the o-ring that seals the fuel heater. Tomorrow I gotta get another turbo coupler and finish putting the truck together. We'll see if fixing the fuel leaks will get it running properly, I have my doubts though.
