Hi all,

following the rebuild thread ot Dieselolds, I found his upgraded rocker retainers solutions is almost a good idea.

Though, several of you say it is better to use brass washers instead of grade 8 steel ones? Any suggestion on that?

I was pretty sure Grade 8 will resist better than brass? so, why brass?

That being said, turbovanman found this nice setup, using brass washers : http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-2-6-5-DIE...ies&hash=item23366b7c3c&vxp=mtr#ht_162wt_1343

But, $500 is out of range for my budget

I also received a proposal for about $400 a complete reman and tested/balanced set of rockers, which is a good proposal considering the good stuff, but still out of range for me at the moment.

If brass is the way to go, I can find the mechanical lock nuts, the screw, but I have yet to find the brass washers.

Anybody knows a good machinist who can make them?
