what the easiest way? I was thinking a relay setup tapped into maybe the radio circuit for a signal wire. it's for an sirus/XM radio. right now it has to be unplugged or it's on steady.

You can tap into the radio circuit and it owuld be fine. the circuit will support the extra amps with no problems or you can easily tap into the accessories cirduit.
 
If you use the Headunits Switched Power, make sure you use it's Ground as well for the XM Unit, or you may have Turn On / Off Pops through the Speakers if you give the XM Unit it's own Separate Ground.

I haven't even looked at the fuse panel on the new truck but most have an aux and a batt. spot open. A 1/4" blade connector fits in there. That's how I wired my cutout and wideband on the car....just used those 2 spots.
