Where would you get a long block from? Im talking for my 94.. I want a good motor. STOCK horsepower/torque is fine. I dont want anything crazy. Just another 200k miles. I think International diesel is out

I know there are theards on this, but I hate doing major truck work like this and I want to do it right once, not half ass it over and over

explain please  who makes a p400?

I googled it, from what I can gather without being a member elsewhere it is made by AM General. It came out in March 2008 and it has a 2-piece block.

EDIT: Forged crank & cast iron girdle are part of the features. P400 is the casting code. It seems that it may require a custom made oil pan. It's made for the HMMWVs and the oil pans are entirely different.

I got airplanes and cell phones. Google HATES me :D

Your not looking hard enough. 6.2's a re usually abundant. Put a Cummins in it. Been done quite a few times. Less wiring for those who are weak at heart of spaghetti than doing a dmax although Dmax sure would be nice , be easier to just buy a truck with a dmax. JK race did a write up on the old site. I don't think the cummins conv was that bad. IIRC he used a 12v. They are also pretty availible cheap used. Personally I'd love to shoehorn a 3208 Cat but that's just because I like pondering stupid things.

Want me to drop of my trucks of for you to shoehorn something into? :D
I dont have the time or energy or will power to do anything anymore it seems

I hear that. I'm a pipe dreamer stimied by marriage and child. I used to do stuff like that. Now I'm old and useless and beaten...Jim...I could use an "Al" pic from your personal library..:D

I would order a customized block from the diesel depot. A 6.2 bored to 6.35 with 6.5 heads, all the raliability mods and coatings, balancing, then a fluidampr balancer.

The P400 is supposed to be an awesome engine. You do need to make a custom oil pan. the two piece thing is in reference to the fact that it comes with a girdle from the factory I think. Supposedly a different/tuned turbo and injector pump. Rated at 250 HP from the factory.

Someone on here or on the Place had posted a sales brochure on it once, I haven't seen it in a while, and I guess everyone has pretty much forgotten about it.
